Answer:- (1) Wild life is in danger today due to human greed and development in recent time.
(2) Due to continuous decreasing forest wild life have lost their natural habitat.
(3) Hunting, carried out to get skin, meat, teeth. Hair and bones, is a big problem.
(4) Due to heavy grating by domestic animals in the forests, for human development. Requirement, this badly affect herbivores animal food which results in decrease in their numbers.
(5) As a result of this carnivores are deprived of their food. So they reach human settlements in search of food and attack domestic animals.
(6) Conflict arise between wild animals and human being lead the destruction of wild life.
(3) Give brief information about different projects for wild life protection.
Answer:- (1) For protecting the wild life, various laws have been formed in our country
(2) Great Maurya king Ashok formed law to protect wild life.
(3) Wild life protection project are –
(i) Project tiger in 1973, this project was launched against hunting and decreasing number of tiger.
(ii) Lion project & due to hunting and reduction in forest area, Asiating lion are now restricted to Gir forests of Sourashtra peninsula. At one stage, their number had gone below 100. In 1972, a project was started in Gir to protect the Asiatic lion.
(iii) For the rare species of Barasinga deer in Kashmir, Hangool project was launched.
(iv) Also crocodile project for saline water. Crocodile, Rhino project for the protection of Indian rhino and snow leopard project.

Answer:- (i) The wild life of India is divided into a zone according to the similarities in their characteristic.
(ii) Asian elephant are found in peninsular rain forest, one horned rhino in swampy Brahmaputra river. Snow leopards in higher Himalayas.
(iii) In the dense forests of Western Ghats flying squirrels are seen.
(iv) Rare species of corals are seen in the Gulf of Kachchh and Lakshadweep islands. And also mammals and many types of birds, snake like king cobra, python are found in this region.
(v) Nicobar dove is a rare bird seen in Nicobar island.
(vi) Animal like wild goat and musk deer are seen in jammu-kashmir, where wild buffalo, tiger in central India and West Bengal.
(2) Remedies for wild life conservation.
Answer:- (1) For wild life conservation it is necessary to increase forest area.
(2) There should be strong legal provisions and strict implementation for the conservation of forest areas and wild animals.
(3) Public awareness programmes should be arrange for wild life protection.
(3) Effect on environment and living organism should be examined, before implementing and development project.
(4) Cutting of large trees outside the forests are should be stopped because their branches are nesting place for birds.
(5) To manage the forest fire an anticipatory planning should be made for patrolling and safety.
