Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA)
Secondary Education Board of Assam, also known as SEBA, is a part of the Assam Education Board which works for the development of secondary education in Assam. It was established under the Assam Act, XXV of 1961 “Assam Secondary Education Act, 1961” as it wanted a governing educational body which would dedicate itself completely to promoting and supervising secondary education in Assam. It came into execution on 14th March, 1962. The present chairperson of SEBA is Sir R.C Jain, who is a retired IAS officer. The SEBA headquarters are located in Bamunimaidan, Guwahati, Assam.

The Secondary Education Board of Assam is mainly responsible for the development and supervision of the Secondary Education in Assam and is also responsible for conducting the HIGH SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE examination for the students of Class 10th. It is also responsible for preparing and revising the syllabus for the secondary classes.
