Appearance, Habit and Habitat of Caecilian
Caecilian is a Blind animal which is soft-bodied, Dark brown and bluish. They possess slimy skin with ring-like markings on the cylindrical. It is a tailless animal. If present, the Tail is short. Skull is strong and the snout (a mouth projection) is pointed.
These amphibians are found in Tropical forests of South Asia, Africa, and Central America. They are seen on the ground and near the streams. It is a burrower and lives a burrowing lifestyle
Caecilian feeds on detritus and the remains of earthworms.
Caecilians have a vision of low intensity light.
Breeding –
Caecilian mate for 2-3 hours
They are oviparous. The eggs are protected by Females.
Adults are fully grown when they are hatched.
