Reserve bank is the central bank of India and the national financial organisation to monitor all financial initiatives. It is crucial to govern the monitory policy of the country for which governor is appointed in RBI. RBI governors look over all financial decisions and initiatives for operating all national level banks, private banks and other financial organisations. RBI was established on 1st April, 1935 under the RBI act 1934 which was formed under Hilton young commission. Any Indian citizen has to be minimum 35 years of age for being selected as governor of RBI. The official tenure for RBI governor is three years as mentioned in the constitution but it can be extended in needs for two more years. Only RBI has the power to control interest rates on deposits and advance amounts within bank which is maintained by the governor.
