Wildlife sanctuaries in India
National parks and wildlife sanctuaries both are protected and reserved forests for wildlife animals. Wildlife sanctuaries are protected forests by the government with the aim of conserving endangered animals, natural flora and fauna and maintaining the ecological balance with it. Activities like hunting, poaching, catching etc. are strictly prohibited in wildlife sanctuaries. Wildlife safari is available within forests but visitors need to ask for government official’s permission with valid and proof and reasons for that too. There are total 544 wildlife sanctuaries in all the states of India. Andaman and Nicobar Island which is a union territory has the highest number of wildlife sanctuaries within India. Among states Maharashtra has the maximum number of wildlife sanctuaries. We can find spectacular beauty of nature within wildlife sanctuary. The most significant part is wild animals get their natural habitats where they roam freely without any disturbance. In national parks people find some specific animals kept in a national park for which that park in well known. Wildlife sanctuary is also same but we can find specific flora and fauna along with limited human activities within it.
