Where Do All the Teachers Go? Summary
This poem is written from the point of view of a small child. To a child, his/her teacher is special and difficult from the students. A teacher does not do all that things, that a student does. So the child wonders what the teacher does when the classes are over at 4 p.m that means when the school is over, whether they too go home or watch T.V like the child does. As all these he/she wants to know the answers too many question. He wonders if they wash their clothes and lives with their parents. Also the kid is interested in knowing about their teacher if they feel relaxed at home. The child also thinking do his/her teacher do normal activities, as they wearing pyjamas. He/she is also eager to know if they too were naughty at school, spelt the words wrongly and if the teacher has ever been a kid and has been punished. The kid also wants to know if the teacher has ever scribbled on the desk or lost a book. There are many more unanswered questions has appeared in the mind of the child. The child also compares his own habits with those of the teachers in their child hood. So to find out the all answers, the child decides to follow the teacher back home one day make a record what is happening. The kid then innocently say that will then note that in a poem and the teacher will read that poem to other children as a fun.
