Good morning to the respected principal, teachers, and fellow friends. Today we have come to celebrate World Television Day in school. The teachers mentioned about the significance of the day and encouraged us to conduct an event. In the beginning of the program, I am going to share a small note on the importance of celebrating World Television Day.
The first electronic television was invented by Philo Taylor Farnsworth in 1927. During that time, television used to be considered as single medium of video display. The size of television has changed gradually and different contents have been introduced through audio-visual platforms to draw attention of large population across the nations. The collaboration of traditional and developing broadcast forms has assisted to highlight social issues faced at the community level. Therefore, United Nations (UN) General Assembly has officially declared 21st November as the World Television Day in 1996. The member states of UN have first arranged World Television Forum to deal with the internal conflicts, security threats and economic issues faced in the rapidly changing world. The main aim of celebrating the day is to raise awareness about the role of television to maintain communication all around the world.
The advancement of technology has helped in including high quality features in television that draws attention of more views in distinct locations. Television as a communication tool has helped to discuss about the current socio-political issues that need to be dissolved in modern time. The audio-visual platform assists to draw public opinion on sensitive issues that need to be resolved without any delay. The pivotal role of television is visible in politics and exchange of information among prominent leaders helps to find out suitable solution to the issues existing in current world.
