Ans. I have sometimes heard that people are not happy with the birth of a girl. I have also heard news about the same thing.
Do you think it is fair to treat boys and girls differently? Why?
Ans. No, it is not fair to treat boys and girls differently. This is because both boys and girls have equal abilities and both must receive support and love equally. Treating them differently will harm them as it will not allow the boys and girls to achieve their dreams and have a good life.
Give examples from your daily life where boys and girls are not treated in the same way.
Ans. Examples from daily life where boys and girls are not treated in the same way are-
a.) Household chores- Girls are expected to do household chores whereas boys are not forced to do the same.
b.) Participating in games and sports – Girls are not allowed to play outside for too long but boys can play for long.
c.) Going outside – Boys are allowed to go outside whenever they want without punishment, but girls cannot go outside without permission and of they do, they are punished.
What would you do if you see someone not treating a child properly?
Ans. If I saw someone not treating a child properly, I would tell them that they are not treating the child properly. If they do not listen to me, I will ask a trusted adult to tell the person to treat the child properly.

A Special Day
Today is a special day for Gaymit. A couple has adopted her and are taking her home. She can now call someone a mother and a father. For years, the orphanage had been her home. Mrs.Laxmi, who runs the orphanage says, people often come to adopt children. Gaymit is a child with special needs. She cannot hear or speak. People very rarely adopt special children like her.
a.) Is there anyone like Gaymit in your home or your locality?
Ans. No, there is no one like Gaymit in my home or locality.
b.) Why do you think she lived in an orphanage?
Ans. I think she lived in the orphanage because she has special needs, which many people may find difficult to understand.
c.) If you were Gaymit, write about how your life would change after the adoption?
Ans. If I were Gaymit, my life after the adoption would completely change. I would have a mother and a father. I will have a loving family with whom I will make many memories.
Am I safe?
Bipin and his mother were travelling in a bus. The bus was full of people. Suddenly, Bipin called his mother and said “Mother, can I please come and sit on your lap.” His mother asked “Why? Isn’t it more comfortable there?” Before she could say anything further, he got up from his seat and came and sat on her lap. He hid himself under her dupatta. His mother couldn’t understand the reason for his strange behaviour. Later at home, he told his mother that the stranger sitting beside him was touching him in a way that made him very uncomfortable.

Ans. A stranger is a person we do not know and have never met before.
