Nobody’s Friend Summary
The poem “Nobody’s friend” is a beautiful yet effective poem by Enid Blyton. This poem is on the quality of sharing.
The first para of the poem “She had some ……………………….. Friend” mentions about a girl who has sweets but she want share with anyone. She also had many books but would not lend to anyone. She had a beautiful doll but would not let anyone play with it. Thus she is alone and is nobody’s friend.
The second para of the poem “They had some ……………….. Friends” draws the picture of a boy who is not ready to share his things with anyone well. He had some toffee and ate the whole without sharing. He had a tricycle which he would never lend to any of his friends. He also had a train but would never let anyone play with it. Thus he is nobody’s friend.
The third and the concluding para of the poem ends the poem with a positive thought. The poet includes herself saying she shares her sweet and also her ball and books. She even lends her toys and shares her apple and her cake; hence she is everyone’s friend.
The poem teaches children as well as readers in a very simple language that sharing also provides happiness and joy. A person who has the habit of sharing always has friends and well wishers and a person who does not share his things is always alone.
