The poem “Sing a song of people” is a very realistic and beautiful poem by Lois Lonski”. The poem draws a picture of the busy world we all are leading to.
The first two para’s of the poem “Sing a song of ……………………………
…………………………. Front of us,” highlights the picture of a world where people are busy walking. Some people walk slow and others walk fast. They go up and down. Some people prefer walking on the sidewalks, some prefer going on the bus. Every – is seen passing here and there.
The third and the fourth para “People on the subway …………………………… Pours” continues saying that the people moving on the subway underneath the ground are also moving and are busy with their job. Some people prefer riding taxis and going and round. People not even stop by rain. They put hats on their head or take a umbrella and continue their works.
The fifth and sixth para of the poem “People in tall ………………………………………. Loud” further mentions that people are sometimes in tall buildings or sometimes in stores below. Some people prefer riding the elevator going up and down. Some people sing to themselves in a crowd. Some people talk aloud in a crowd while some prefer to be quiet. The characteristic of every person differ from other.
In the last two para’s of the poem “People laughing ……………………… Know” the poet further mentions that some people are laughing or smiling whereas. Some are grumpy and sad too. The people in the crowd are always busy and nobody has the time to look at each other. Thus the poet wants us a sing a song of people who will always come and go. We see the same crowd going on and on everyday but we never know each other.
