1.) Insert the correct forms of the Degrees of Adjectives in the following sentences.
(a) He is the (clever) of the two boys.
Answer. He is the cleverer of the two boys.
The comparison between two persons or objects is showed by comparative degree.

Answer.Romen is more honest than any of his friends.
Than is used in comparative degree for that the comparative form of honest adjective is used.

‘To’ is used after elder and elder adjective is used to show the relation of the same family.
(b) Yaima is the eldest man in the village.
Answer.Yaima is the oldest man in the village.
The correct adjective is oldest as he is the person in the entire village not of a family.
(c) Tombi is more senior than me in the class.
Answer.Tombi in superior to me in the class.
Senior is not correct adjective for same class, so superior is used.

‘The’ is used in superlative degree before the adjective.

Answer. This painting is better than the other one.
Perfect can be used in superlative degree not in comparative degree. So, better is the correct adjective for comparative degree.

Answer.Sushila has got much less marks than I.
Much is used before adjective less to explain comparative degree.
