1.) Pick out the Adjectives in the following sentences and state the class to which they belong:
(a) A good boy always obeys his parents.
Answer. Good- adjective of quality.
The word good describes the quality of the boy who obeys his parents. So, it is a descriptive adjective or adjective of quality.
(b) The cruel man caused great sufferings to the members of his family.
Answer. Cruel- adjective of quality, great- descriptive adjective.
The word cruel describes the nature or quality of the man. The word describes the state or quality of sufferings. So, both the words are descriptive adjective or adjective of quality.
(c) Which book do you prefer?
Answer. Which- interrogative adjective.
The word which is used to ask particular question so it is an interrogative adjective.
(d) He was standing at the very bottom of the hill.
Answer. Bottom- descriptive adjective.
The word bottom describes the place of the hill so it is a descriptive adjective.
(e) He is the only living son of the Minister.
Answer. Living- participle adjective.
The present participle form of live is used as adjective of the noun son, so it is a participle adjective.
(f) Australian players are very disciplined.
Answer. Disciplined- adjective of quality.
The word disciplined described the quality of Australian players so it an adjective of quality.
(g) Every story must have a moral lesson.
Answer. Every- distributive adjective, moral- adjective of quality.
‘Every’ describes distribution of stories among people and the word moral describes the quality of the lesson.
(h) Most boys want to play.
Answer. Most- indefinite numeral adjective.
Most word describes which boys want to play but in indefinite way so it is an indefinite numeral adjective.
(i) Every dog has its day.
Answer. Every- distributive adjective, its- possessive adjective.
‘Every’ is a descriptive adjective and it’s related to the dog so it is a possessive adjective.
(j) Neither team could score a single goal.
Answer. Distributive adjective, single- definite numeral adjective.
Neither is a distributive adjective in negative way and single is a definite numeral adjective describing the number of goal.
(k) Several persons came to meet the officers.
Answer. Several- indefinite numeral adjective.
Several describes the indefinite number of persons.
(l) There are fertile fields on either side of the river.
Answer. Fertile- adjective of quality, either- distributive adjective.
Fertile describes the quality of fields and either describes the side of the river.

What is used to frame a particular question, so it is an interrogative adjective.
2.) Correct the following sentences:
(1) It was an unexpecting blow.
Answer. It was an unexpected blow.
Unexpected is a past participle adjective used before blow.
(2) Each men have to sign that document.
Answer. Each man has to sign that document.
Each adjective takes singular subject with singular verb.
(3) His both hands are injured.
Answer. This is a correct sentence.
This sentence is in passive form.
(4) What house is that?
Answer. What kind of house is that?
The sentence was incomplete in meaning.
(5) I have no any money.
Answer. I have no money.
Any and no cannot be used together so only no is used in negative sentence.
(6) The two first boys in the class will get prizes.
Answer. The first two boys in the class will get prizes.
Ordinal number precedes cardinal number in sentence when they are used together.
(7) Don’t try to please either teams.
Answer. Don’t try to please either team.
Either word is used with singular subject.
(8) Each one of us have to sing a song.
Answer. Each one of us has to sing a song.
Each one is singular subject so it takes singular verb too.
