Subject: – About the poor drainage system of Kolkata.
Respected Sir,
I am writing this letter out of concern for the peoples living in the Kolkata. The drainage system of Kolkata is causing them a lot of trouble. Last time the entire city was flooded. Due to this flood many people lost their shelter. The drainage system in Kolkata has affected the people. The people of Kolkata have to bear the impact of virulent disease, children cannot go to school, and workers cannot go to work. Water seeps into the slum area and destroys houses in the slum area.
Floods and landslides greatly affect people living in low lying areas. The drainage system needs to take some action against this. I, hereby request that this issue should be resolved as soon as possible for the people living in Kolkata. Some immediate steps must be taken.
Please publish this issue in your newspaper for the convenience of the people and to be seen by the higher authorities, so that the action against the serious issue must be taken early on.
Thanking you.
Yours Sincerely,
Aman Deol

Subject: Complaint about blockage of drainage in our locality.
Respected sir,
I hope you are fine. My name is Samiran Kariwadekar and I am resident of Kadam society. I am writing this letter to inform you about the improper functioning of the drainage system in our locality as it is causing inconvenience to everybody and poses health and safety risk to the nearby residents.
The drainage system is not working properly. This has resulted in clogging of the drainage canals, accumulation of drainage water, constant spread of foul odours and the drainage canals have become a breeding ground for the mosquitoes which has resulted in spread of dengue and malaria in the society.Due to constant clogging the drainage water flows out on the road causing damage to the road and inconvenience to pedestrians and bike riders. Many bike riders have met with an accident. This drainage problem is affecting the human being of the community.
I hope you pay attention to this problem and take a quick action.
Thanking you in anticipation,
Yours Truly,
Samiran Kariwadekar.

Subject – Inferior condition of the drains of Ward No- 43
Respected Sir
My name is Simrat Kaur and I am a resident of Ward No-34 in theAzad Nagar Housing Society, B. B. Ganguly Street in Kolkata. We have been residing in this locality for last 30 years. I am humbly writing this letter in order to bring in to notice about the inferior conditions of the drainage system of our locality in your esteemed and well – circulated newspaper.
The dreadful condition of the drains has become a concern for all the residents of our locality. The drains have not been cleaned and repaired for a long duration and have become clogged with various types of waste like plastic tea cups, polythene bags etc. These wastes are not letting water pass and as a result nuisance of mosquitoes and flies is increasing every day as well as there is foul odor in the whole area. The residents are getting infected by diseases like dengue and malaria. The overflow of drain water on the roads is a cause of inconvenience for the pedestrians also. During rainy season, the problem of waterlogging is a regular event in the locality. The authorities have been informed many times but they have not come for any assistance.
Thus, I am hoping that you kindly consider publishing this letter in your esteemed newspaper, so that the authorities are woken from their slumber of indifference towards the well-being of our locality.
Thanking you
Yours sincerely
