LET’S REVISIT AND REFLECT
Ans 1. The story ‘The Race ‘gives us the lesson that one should not be afraid of failures and always keep focus on the achieving the goal. Yes, I agree because failures also teach us lessons. In life there can be many obstacles before us, if we get worried and scared then we will never achieve anything. We must work hard and stay focused on our aim that we wish achieve.
Ans 2.The support of family and friends play a very important role in one’s success. They play as the support for each other and provide love and care when one is in need. Tarun was an athlete; he was not very good at studies for which he was always rebuked by his father and friends at school but his mother silently supported him in dream of becoming fastest runner in the world. WhenTarun participated in the race his mother was present to encourage him. Ram Narayan, his new friend and coach, also motivated him to confront the challenge in front of him and win the obstacles. Thus, our family and friends are our source of motivation, pillar who inspire us constantly in achieving our dreams.
Ans3. Yes, if I was in the stands watching race, I would surely have applauded him. Tarun was an excellent runner. He dreamt of becoming the fastest runner in the world but unfortunately, he did not have any chance of proper training to achieve his dream. Tarun belonged to a middle-class family and the money for training was beyond their reach. He was scolded by his father for not scoring high in academics and investing more time in running only. Tarun never lost his courage and continued with his running, participated in the competition even when there was none to support him. He went alone to face the challenge. Tarun was unable to win the race but did not stop until he reached the end even when he was falling down continuously. Thus, his courage and perseverance should be honored and motivated.

Poor sleep
Addiction to drugs and alcohol
Addiction to mobile use
Sedentary life
The factors mentioned above affect the life of any child or an adult. The excessive intake of fast-food harms in many ways. It makes a person obese, ruins the function of digestive system, causes diabetes, heart diseases etc. It has been noticed that people are not following the need for proper sound sleep. The work pressure, bad habits like watching mobile phones for hours disturb the sleep pattern of the individuals. They become so engrossed in movies or video games that they do not go to bed in time and are deprived of 6 to 8 hours sleep which is required for a healthy body. The continuous sleep deprivation is affecting their power of concentration, causing fatigue through out the day. Disease like diabetes, depression, high blood pressure are common in young people. The young sportsperson and athletes get affected by failures and often resort to addiction of drugs and alcohol. These bad habits not only affect their health but also reduces their capability as a sportsperson. They can no longer take pressure of training and keep up their standards high. All these bad habits lead to a sedentary lifestyle where people do not practice any form of physical activities which is required for a healthy mind and body.
