= The boy was very lazy. He was not used to doing any kind of work. He did not realize the value of labour.

“…you are asking me to throw my hard earned money into the well!” – The boy was sad when he said this. He earned this money by hard work. He cried out in pain as his entire body is aching, his palms had rashes after the hard work.
