(1.) What is a map?
Ans. a map is a two-dimensional representation of the whole or part of the earth, drown to scale, on a flat surface.
(2.) List the main components of a map.
ans. Main components of a map are –
a) Direction b) Scale c) Conventional Signs.
(3.) Name three types of maps that you have seen.
Ans. 3 types of maps are-
i) Political Map.
ii) Thematic Map
iii) Physical Map.
(4.) What is the difference between a Physical map and a Political map?
Ans. a political map shows boundaries between countries, states or counties. Where as, A physical map shows the geography of the area like mountains, valleys are shown by the shaded relief.
(5.) Which geographical features and natural resources are shown in the distribution-maps?
ans. Geographical features shown in the distribution-maps are Physical surface, water bodies, Volcanoes, mining area etc And Natural resources shown in the distribution maps are- Coal, iron, fresh water bodies etc.
