How can you know if they are Biscuit Beetles?
These Beetles are reddish brown, oval-shaped and have a humped appearance. The body surface is covered in yellow hairs.
Larvae are white, Crescent in shape.
Food preference of Biscuit Beetle.
The food source for the beetle is pharmaceuticals. Drugs are created using dried medicinal herbs.
The major food source for these insects is a poisonous herbal extract known as strychnine, which is used as a pesticide to kill rodents.
Spices, dried food, hair, leather, books, bread crumbs, and other dry, powdery foods are examples.

The Female lays 7 eggs. The hatched larvae live up to many months. Although their survival is dependent on food availability. Drug store beetle larvae live in a ‘symbiotic relationship’ with the Yeast fungi.
