→ (b) Condensation
- (5) Very Short answer type questions: –
(i) Wate is two main sources of water?
→(1) Ground water, and (2) Surface water, like lake, dam, rivers etc.
(ii) What is the advantage of drip irrigation?
→ Main advantage of drip irrigation is, conservation of water, and water go to slowly to the roots of plant directly. instead of filling up the entire unplanted field.
(iii) What is the effect of temperature on evaporation?
→The effect of temperature. In the sunlight, water from water bodies like oceans, lakes, rivers, etc. water gets evaporated faster when temperature is higher.
(iv) Differentiate between ground water and surface water?
→Ground water is present below the surface of earth, is the largest source of useable water storage. Therefore, it is safe for drinking water. Surface water is found in lakes, rivers, wells, and reservoirs like dams.
(v) What is transpiration?
→ ‘Transpiration’ is a process by which remaining water is evaporated from the plants leave.
- (6) Short answer type questions: –
(i) Explain floods and its effects?
→A heavy rainfall or abnormal water from natural calamities cross the normal limit of rivers and oceans is called floods. Effects of floods: many people and animal die, many houses flow through flood, people injured, electricity, internet, water supply disrupted. Roads, bridges, farms, industrial organizations destroyed.
(ii) Define condensation. Give two examples?
→ When the evaporated gas goes to air/atmosphere, at certain height the air Becomes so cool that the water vapours present in it condenses(liquid).
For example: Dew on leaves, water droplets, fog etc.
(iii) Explain formation of clouds?
→ When the water vapour, goes to atmosphere invisible gas at certain height the air becomes so cool that the water vapours present in clouds from.
(iv) Write three ways to conserve water?
→(1) Dailly uses of human beings, animals, and every living organism.
(2) Plants for growing, (3) Farmers for agriculture and farming the crops.
(v) What is drought and what are its effects?
→A place or a land where no rainfall for a year or less rainfall in a years in that region called drought. The soil continues to lose water and dry, farming, irrigation, drinking water are affected, plants and animal life also affected, level of walls goes down and down.
(7) Long answer type questions: –
(i) Explain the uses of water?
→ Water is essential for all living organisms. Without water no living organisms can service on this earth. For our daily needs, i.e. bathing, cloth washing, drinking, and many other reasons we need water. As well as to grow plant they will also need water for preparing leaves and fruitsfor very important uses of water to farmer for growing all types of crops, vegetables, and keeping as farm always beneficial. Industries are also need water for making products, cooling plants etc. Builders also need water for built big buildings and its necessary materials. Water also needful for water-transport systems. etc.
(ii) Explain water cycle with diagram?
→ Water from water bodies like oceans, lakes, rivers, etc. evaporates in the form of vapours it called evaporation, as vapour goes higher in atmosphere becomes cooler and cooler. At certain height vapours present in it condenses. As a result, condensed water vapours float in air and cloud formation take place. When clouds get heavier, water falls back on earth in form of rain and snow. Rain and snow that comes from cloud is known as precipitation. This water is collected back in water bodies. The circulation of water in this manner is known as water cycle.
(iii) Why there is need to conserve water? Write technique of rain water Harvesting?
→ Showing year by year our population are increases so water is increasing day by day. Seas and oceans water is salty so that we cannot use it. So, we all are need to consumption of water is very carefully and avoid its wastage.
How we can conserve water: 1.) Use bucket during bath,
2.) Turn of the tap while brushing teeth.
3.) Turn off the tap after washing hands.
4.) Use bucket while wash car or scooter,
5.) Repairs the leakage in pipes and taps regularly.
(6) Recycling of water : we can start this even in our houses. For example, water
Used in cleaning utensils, cloth can be, used to water plants in the garden.
(7) Rain water harvesting. (8) Use drip irrigation method for irrigating fields.
(8) Rain water harvesting :It is simplest and oldest method of self-supply of water.
EXTRA QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:
Write short answers of following questions: –
(1) Only oceans hold how many percentages of water on earth?
→ Oceans holds about 97.41% of the total water.
(2) Sources of water?
→ On the earth, there are two sources of water (1) Surface water and (2) Ground water.
(3) Which are water cycle steeps?
→ (1) Evaporation, (2) Condensation, (3) Precipitation, (4) Collection
(4) How many percentages of fresh water on earth?
→ Fresh water is only 2.59% on earth.
(5) What are the most importable things about water?
→ Water is reversable and interchangeable substance.
(6) What is Transpiration?
→ Plants need water to grow. Some part of this water is used to prepare food in leaves while remaining water is released by plant into air through the process
of ‘transpiration.’
(7) What is Precipitation?
→ When clouds get heavier, water falls back to earth in form of rain and snow. Rain and snow that comes from cloud is known as ‘Precipitation.’
(8) Why do we observe water droplets outside water bottle when taken out from a refrigerator?
→ Because of, the water vapours present in air get condensed on coming in contact with the cool surface of the bottle. Thuse, we observe water droplets on bottle when taken out from a refrigerator.
(9) In year 2013 where is a major flood damaged in India?
→ At Indian state of Uttarakhand, ‘Kedarnath’ caused devastating floods and landslides.
(10) What is roof top rain water harvesting?
→Roof top water harvesting is a very simple rain harvesting system, in this system water falling from rain periodon the top of house or building. It is collected through pipes and stored it in storage which helps for bathing, flushing toilets, washing clothes, growing plants etc.
