(5) Very short answer Type:-
(i) Which gas is essential for breathing for animals?
→ ‘Oxygen’ gas is essential for breathing for animals.
(ii) Name one component of air that does not support burring?
→In air there is two or three component that does not support burring
i.e. nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and watervapour etc.
(iii) Name the components of air?
→Oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and ozone gases and the remaining are dust particles, Smoke, Water vapour, etc.
(6) Short answer type: –
(i) Which gas in the atmosphere is essential for respiration?
→Oxygen and carbon dioxide gas in the atmosphere is essential for respiration.
(ii) Why does a lump of cotton wool shrink in water?
→Lump of cotton wool shrink in water, because of the air between the gaps of Cotton wool will be replaced in to water.
(iii) How will you show that air dissolves in water?
→ (1) When we through the stone into the lake or river some bubbles come out on surface of water.
(2) When we boiling water, some droplets contain around the pot. It shows that air dissolves in water.
(7) Long answer type: –
(i) How will you show that air supports burning?
→ Air supports burning because in the air oxygen gas is presented, and oxygen gas helps to burning things. For example, when we light the two candles on the table topand cover only one of candle with glass jar.
After some time, we observe the candle cover with glass jar blows out while the other candle keeps on burning. Thus, we learn when oxygen in the glass jar inform of ‘air’ is used up, the candle blows out.
(ii) How the balance of carbon dioxide and oxygen gases are maintained in the atmosphere?
→‘Respiration’ is doing the most important role to maintained balance of carbondioxide and oxygen in the atmosphere. Durning photosynthesis, plants andtrees are making their own food with the help of carbon – dioxide and release oxygen. Human being and all other animals use that oxygen for breathing and release carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in this way balance maintained in the atmosphere.
EXTRA QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:
Short answer questions: –
(1) give the percentage of gases in air like, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen?
→Composition of Air (gases) = Oxygen – 21 %, nitrogen – 78 %, and carbon dioxide – 0.03 %.
(2) Air occupies space is it true, explain how?
→ When we feeling the air into the empty balloon or tube is compressed. And exerts pressure on it.
(3) What is the use of air around us?
→Uses of air around us is, breathing for us, survival for human beings, animals, plants, flying kite, drying cloths, in farming for winnowing etc.
(4) When wind blows high speed what happened?
→When wind blows very high speed it can cause damages of trees, crop, roof tops, building damages, ocean climate disturbance etc.
(5) What is the role of nitrogen growth of plants and animals?
→Nitrogen cannot take directly from air, nitrogen is first fixed to the soil by bacteriain the form of compounds then it is absorbed by the plants. And animals eating plants in the form of food and growth well.
(6)What is the role of ‘carbon dioxide’ in our life?
→Main role of carbon dioxide is essential for ‘photosynthesis’ process by plants preparing their own food. produced during respiration of animal. Also it is used for fire-extinguisher.
(7) Which gas is called ‘greenhouse gas’ and why?
→Carbon dioxide gas is called greenhouse gas, because it helps to trap heat in our atmosphere.
(8) Describe‘Oxygen Gas?’
→Oxygen gas is very most essential for all living beings in this earth. It is needed for respiration by all organism. Terrestrial plants and animals take oxygen from atmosphere whereas soil animals take in the pores of soil. It helps us for burning purpose.
(9) What is the role of dust and smoke in air?
→Air contains dust particles and smoke. Smoke is released in air by vehicles and industries. It causes ‘air pollution.’
(10) Can water present in air around us?
→Water is present in the form of vapours in the air. When air comes in contact with a cool surface, water vapours present in the air condense to form droplets on the cool surface.
