The word freedom itself means “the state of not being enslaved“. One day or another we got to know that how the British people ruled upon us , how they I ill treated us . Today there won’t be a student who is not taught about the struggle of our freedom fighters , the efforts they put in and the sacrifices they made to make India independent . If it was not for these brave hearts then we would have still be working as a slave in some British family . We all know that these British came in India to do business with us . Soon they came across the immense wealth of our nation and began exploiting it in every way possible. This led to the start of the freedom struggle of India. The people of India started revolting against the British raj , the first freedom struggle also known as the revolt of 1857 was led by Mangal Pandey. The queen of Jhansi also fought bravely against the British thus weakening the power established by the British. Even though these did not completely removed from our lands they still posed a great impact on the minds of the British. Later , many more freedom fighters including Mahatma Gandhi , Bhagat Singh , Lala Lajpat Rai , Subash Chandra Bose , Bal Gangadhar Tilak , Chandrasekhar Ajad emerged out in the country. To overcome the British Raj, Mahatma Gandhi led some of the most renowned and nonviolent movement like civil disobedience movement , quit India movement e.t.c and famous Dandi March to protest against the monopoly in salt. Bhagat Singh one of the bravest fighter our of nation , sacrificed his life for our nation , at that moment he was in the prime of his youth and could have stayed shut but choose not to. On 23 March 1931 he was hanged along with his companions for the killing of John Sanders . “Give me your blood and I will give you freedom “ was a slogan that is still much popular in Indian youths was spoken by the great Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. These and many more countless fights by the countless freedom fighters of India played a vital role in suppressing the power of the British. Hand picking a few freedom fighters would be injustice to others. It was a collective effect of all freedom fighters no matter however few and or however large their fight was , thanks to them we are now present in a secular country that is free from the presence of any outside power.
