Ans:- The barber in this story had six brothers.

(2) Why was the Sultan in a hurry?

Ans:- The Sultan was in a hurry because he had invited some of his friends for a feast at noon.

(3) Why did the Barber take so long to shave the Sultan?

Ans:- The barber took so long to shave the Sultan because he was so talkative and wasted time telling unnecessary things.

(i) The Barber was shaving the Sultan’s beard – false.

Ans:- No, the Sultan did not enjoy the Barber’s talk.

The Sultan lost all his patience for the barber’s useless talks that was wasting his time. So, he wanted to get rid of him rather than enjoying his talks.

(2) Which part of the story did you find the funniest?

Ans:- The funniest part of the story to me was the first part when the barber suddenly started talking about his brothers though the Sultan never asked about them.

(3) What are the things the Sultan gave to the Barber?

Ans:- The things that the Sultan gave to the Barber were three pieces of gold and all the food that had been prepared for the Sultan that day.

(4) Do you think the Sultan was really very generous? Why do you say so?

Ans:- No, I do not think that the Sultan was really very generous.

He gave the barber three pieces of gold and all the food just to make him finish his work quickly so that the Sultan could get rid of him.

(ii) At first, we buy vegetables like cucumbers, tomatoes, onions etc. Then, we wash it properly. After that, we remove the skin of those vegetables. Next, we cut it into round slices. Then, some salt is added to it. At last, it is ready to serve.
