Ans)The Growth of urbanisation in India has been slow. Brazil is one of the few developing countries which is highly urbanised. In Brazil, rapid urbanisation happened mainly in the South and South-east rather urbanization has been more in the Southern part than in the northern part in India.
(b) Diffrentiate between the human settlements in Ganga river basin and The Amazon river basin.
Ans) Ganga river basin is populated with high rate of human settlement than the Amazon river basin.
Ample supply of water, developed agricultural land, good transportation system etc. are the reason behind huge human settlement in Ganga basin. Here we can witness the nucleated type of settlement.
Unfavorable climate, heavy rainfall, accessibility and dense forests are the barriers the development of human settlements in Amazon river Basin and here we see dispersed type of human settlement.

Ans) Human settlements grow in specific locations only because it depends on the few major factors like

On the other hand, dispersed settlements are found in tribal parts covering central part of India, eastern and southern Rajasthan, Himalayan slopes and land with dissected and uneven topography.
