Sub: Implementation of odd/even scheme to control traffic hazards and pollution
Sir,
Through your esteemed publication I would like to draw attention of the Governmentand traffic authoritiesregarding therise in traffic congestion and pollution in our city due to the rising population.
The massive rise in population in the city has caused health hazards, numerous accidents, delay in travel time and various other problems. Most of the household use their own transport like a car or bike for travelling and avoid taking the bus or public transport now days, specially after the pandemic has hit the city. This has caused a rise in vehicular traffic, thereby causing traffic jams and huge rise in pollution in the city. The time taken to travel has also increased and most of the people like students are delayed to get to school and the working class are delayed to get to their work places.
The use of Public transport has also become a problem due to shortage of buses and rise in population, the Government needs to provide more buses and trains in order to cope with the rising population. The use of electric buses and vehicles will also save our depleting resources and reduce pollution levels.
Hoping the Government and traffic authorities take desired steps and introduce odd/even scheme to control this traffic hazards and pollution in the city at the quikest, throughthis publication in your newspaper.
Yours truly,
Rahul Naik
