Subject: Changing role of media
Sir
I would like to express my deep concern over the changing role of media through the columns of your esteemed daily. Media has to play an important role in bringing the truth about the government’s policies or the truth behind any accident cases in front of everyone. But nowadays due to politics, publicity, sales promotion and powerful people’s and big organization’s control over the media, the news channels are airing commercial breaks, advertisement of various company’s products more than the vital news. A group of powerful people and organization misuse the media to manipulate normal people’s opinions. In this way they are hiding the truth from everyone and shows different reasons, different prospect behind any incident or policy. So that people change their perspective and misunderstand the policies or situations.
Even sometimes media becomes very busy to airing the news about celebrity’s marriage parties, activity of celebrity’s children or any powerful, rich people’s life or action so that they have forget to air more important news. Nowadays media only think about popularity and rating, so they use their freedom in a cheap ways to gain them.
Therefore I want to suggest that media should stop to publish and show absurd things and warry about ratings and positions. They should stop showing false news about any incident and try to bring out the hidden truth. I hope that other people will consider my plea and media will wake up and do their main job.
Yours sincerely
Amrita Singh

Sub: Media’s changing role in India
Sir,
With reference to the above subject matter I would like draw attention of the media and the general public regarding the unwanted news being aired for TRP’s and ratings, the fact about current affairs are not shown. Most of the political parties and corporate businesses have hired these media channels for their benefit.
Several news and media channels are only focused on celebrity wedding, and their personal news which is not of most important to the public. Public need to receive prompt and factual news about Governments decisions, policies, and other related amendments so at time of elections the right party is brought into power. The changing roles of media has also affected the minds of the youth making them vulnerable, and affecting their decisions.
Hence, hoping my plea is voiced out through your esteemed newspaper to the large masses and the media who need to play their role in the right way, which will help our nation move forward in the right direction.
Yours sincerely,
Akash Pilai
