Answer: Raman used to fall sick often so he was not able to attend school regularly.

Answer: He completed his Intermediate examination from Hindu College.

1.) What makes you think that Raman, even as a boy, had great interest in Science?
Answer: Raman was very much interested in science from his school days. He had made the model of a dynamo in his school and also borrowed science books from college students and read them. This shows how keen he was in science.
2.) Why did Raman’s relatives ask Raman to take up Arts Subjects? How did Raman react to it?
Answer: Raman used to fall sick often in his young days. His relatives thought that he would not able to pursue science so they asked him to take History and Economic as his special subjects for B.A. But Raman had already made his mind and took Physics. .
3.) What was Raman’s first disappointment in life?
Answer: After Raman’s M.A, he wanted to go the United Kingdom for his higher studies in science. But his health broke down and he could not go. This was his first greatest disappointment in his life.
4.) Why was Raman not happy with the post of Deputy Accountant General?
Answer: Raman had deep passion for science since his childhood. His post of Deputy Accountant General made him feel like a fish out of water and this is why he was not happy with it.
5.) How can you say that Raman had not lost interest in science when he was the Deputy
Accountant General?
Answer: Even when Raman worked as the Deputy Accountant General, he mixed with scientists and took interest in Science. He would go to the meetings of scientists and look at the modern scientific apparatus.
