Answer: The pilot, co-pilot and the fighter ran away from the aircraft when they heard about the hijack. They were right by doing so else the terrorists would have caused more danger.

Answer: The terrorists wanted to identify the Americans and kill them and this is why she hid the passports of the Americans.
8.) Why is Neerja called ‘the heroine of the hijack’?
Answer: It was Neerja who took charge and faced the situation bravely. She opened the emergency door and helped a number of passengers to escape when the hijackers opened fire and set off explosives. She risked her life and saved others life. She lost her life while shielding three children from a hail of bullets and this is why she is called ‘the heroine of the hijack.’
