Full form of PGDM: The full form of PGDM is Postgraduate Diploma in Management and as the name suggests it is a 2year programme in management. Generally students from almost all undergraduate programs can opt for PGDM. The curriculum is a mixture of both theoretical and practical based education but more importance is given to the later. It is a famous course among the youngsters as they get to learn different management and leadership skills.
India is a country with fastest growing economy which attracts the young minds towards this management course. Most of the universities offer PGDM and even gives placement after the completion. So knowing the eligibility criteria is very important-
Eligibility Criteria
- Only students who have completed Graduation from a recognised institute in any stream can enrol to this program.
- Students who have cleared government based entrance exam and those who have not are both eligible.
- Most of the universities ask for 50-55% of marks.
- Candidates with work experience are also eligible.
- Some universities also conduct an entrance exam which an aspirant should pass.
There are three types of PGDM courses available like Full time, Online and distance and each has their own benefits.
Difference between MBA and PGDM
Though both are similar but the main difference lies in the subjects covered as MBA has a more complicated syllabus compared to PGDM. To get admission in the former a student has to pass government based entrance exam while it’s not the case for the later.
