Essay – Women’s Empowerment Speech
Women’s Empowerment Speech Essay: India was the first country in the world that granted its women the Right to Vote and participate in the Universal adult Franchise after its independence in 1947. The feminist movement in India associated with the movement of empowering women took place in three phases. The first phase was characterized by the active participation of social reformers such as Raja Rammohan Roy, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar and Swami Vivekananda who worked relentlessly for the abolishing sati (sacrificing women in their deceased husband’s funeral pyre) and education of women. Savitribai Phule was born in the family of a backward community called Mali on 3rd January 1831 in Naigaon village in Maharashtra.
