Time taken = Time taken by second group – Time taken by 1st gr
= 85 min – 35 min
=50 min.
g.) What is the total weight of sugar and tea leaves together in kilograms bought by the students?
Weight of sugar = 250 gm
Weight of tea leaves = 200 gm
Total weight = 250gm +200 gm.

2.) Add 16 rs and 75 paise with 27rs and 25paise.
Solution : 1 Rs = 100 paise
16 rs and 75 paise = (16 x 100 ) + 75 paise
=1600+75 paise
=1675 paise.
27 rs and 25 paise = (27 x 100 ) + 25 paise
=2700+25 paise
=2725 paise.
Now, 16 rs and 75 paise +27 rs and 25 paise
=1675 paise +2725 paise
=4400 paise
3.) Add 20rs with 100rs and 50paise. From this sum, subtract 90 and 70paise.
Solution : 1 Rs = 100 paise
100 rs and 50 paise = (100 x 100 ) + 50 paise
=1000+50 paise
=1050 paise.
20 rs = 20 x 100 paise =2000 paise.
Now, 20 rs +100 rs and 50 paise
=1050 paise +2000 paise.
=3050 paise.
90 rs and 70 paise = (90 x 100 ) + 70 paise
=9000+70 paise
= 9070 paise.
Now, From this sum, subtract 90 and 70paise
90 rs and 70 paise – 3050 paise –
= 9070 paise. – 3050 paise
=6020 paise.

Solution – Remaining piece of cloth = Total cloth – Used cloth
Total cloth = 5 m 25 cm.
1 m =100 cm
Total cloth = 5 m 25 cm.
= (5 x 100) cm + 25 cm
= 500 cm +25 cm
=525 cm
Used cloth = 3 m 50 cm.
= (3 x 100) cm + 50 cm

10 kg =10 x 1000 gm =10000 gm
7 kg 500 gm = (7 x 1000 )gm + 500 gm
=7000 gm + 500 gm
