1.) What do you mean by ‘resource’? How many and what are the main divisions of resources?
Answer:
We collect various things from nature to fulfil our daily needs. All the things which we collect from different sources are called as Resources.
There are 3 main divisions of resources.
i) Natural resources.
ii) Human resources.
iii) Man-made resources.
2.) “Man is the principal biotic resource”. Explain with justification. (Within 100 words)
Answer:
We all live in environment. Environment consist of biotic and abiotic resources. We know that Man is also part of resorces. Man have different skills such as Man have human intelligence, efficiency, skills, working capacity, ability to produce something. We know the development or progress of any country depends on the efficiency or skills of the people of country. Man help in development of our country by transferring and creating resources in many ways. Due to this “Man is the principal biotic resource”.
3.) What are the natural resources with which you are familiar? Write briefly about their means of conservation.
Answer:
The resources which we get from nature is called “natural resources”.
The natural resources with which we are familiar are water, energy, soil.
1) Means of conservation of water:
i) Stop unnecessary use of water.
ii) Re-use rain water for future use.
2) Means of conservation of energy:
i) Use solar energy for our daily use.
3) Means of conservation of soil:
i) Plant anti-erosion plants such as grass, pulses etc.
4.) What do you mean by ‘long term development’? Why is the development essential for man?
Answer:
Long term development is a process in which we use resources for our present and future need.
For our development it is essential because after some time these resources vanishes.
