Jalpaiguri: Foresters Finally managed to cage the leopard that was on the prowl in Nagrakata’s Kabuldanga in the Khasbastee area for the past three days. Forest workers had to struggle a lot to net the animal which was in its prime. On Wednesday it had also mauled two forest guards when they were trying to net it. On Thursday, foresters from Khunai and Binnaguri wild lige squads reached the spot. They laid to cages to nab the animal. But the big cat chased them, following which they had to take shelter inside the two meant to catch the animal. After hours the animal was finally tranquilized and netted. It was taken to Garumara National Park. Around 100 leopards have been rescued from North Bengal over the post eight years and in most cases the animals which are under the co- predator section in the tiger conservation programme, were rescued from tea gardens.
