c) The tsar was given all the answers of three questions through his own actions. He helped the hermit in digging the ground, dressed the wound of the bearded man and saved his life. Later he came to know the man was his enemy and wanted to take revenge upon him. But he asked for forgiveness and promised to serve the tsar lifelong. The tsar was also happy to make peace with his enemy and promised to return his property. In this way, the tsar came to know that the most important time is present, the most important people are present people and most important action is doing well for the people in present time.
vii) a) in the quoted line from poem ‘Killing a Tree’, ‘this’ refers to hacking and chopping for cutting a tree.
b) ‘It’ suggests the cutting of a tree.
c) Only hacking and chopping is not enough action to cut a tree. It may occur only little pain to the bark and branches of tree which it will recover soon. After the bark being healed new curled green twigs will come out from the ground. With time new branches will also spread over the tree. The tree will expand to its normal size again. So, a tree cannot be killed by hacking and chopping.
d) The root has the ultimate strength of a tree. To weaken the tree, its root must be uprooted from the ground first. To do this, the tree has to be tied with a rope for pulling out from the earth. Then the roots will be exposed in the sun and it will be dried. The root will be scorched completely within air and sun. it will be brown and hard completely. Then the tree will be killed finally.
viii) a) the quoted line is taken from the poem ‘The Poetry Of Earth’ written by john Keats.
b) Here the meaning of stove means the fire place that is needed in winter. ‘From the stove there shrills’ this line reflects the harshness of nature and vibrant during winter season. Stove shows the importance of fire place to keep us warm in chilled cold of winter.
c) The shrill sound of the cricket makes winter warmer against chilling cold. The sound of the cricket’s song breaks the silence of lonely winter evening.
d) The cricket plays the role of making winter vibrant and lively. The forest becomes silent in lonely winter evening. Nature is gloomy and desolate in harsh winter. In this ambience, the cricket keeps the music of nature alive with its shrill sound in the earth.
x) a) Lomov says this statement in the play ‘The Proposal’.
b) Lomov thinks about marriage seriously when he was getting ready to go to the landowner Chubukov’s house with marriage proposal for Natalya Stepanovna. To support his thought about getting married he gives several reasons why he cannot wait much.
c) Lomov thinks he is in a critical age for getting married to be 35 years old. He does not have much time to think, give himself time and find true love. If he waits for long he might remain unmarried. He finds Natalya a great housekeeper, not bad-looking and educated woman in her mid-twenties. He wants to lead and quiet and regular life after marriage. These are the definite reasons he gave for getting married.
d) Lomov’s comment shows that how important marriage was in the contemporary society at that time. People used to consider marriage as one of the milestone of their life. For that they used to consider certain age limit. Marriage was a social status to live happy and peaceful life after certain time.

World water day is observed all over the world on 22 march every year. It is indeed an important day to spread awareness about reserving water for livelihood. The theme for the present year of world water day was ‘waste not water’. It was a global event when people all over the world were involved in some kind of activities to alert people. We came to know about the present status of water conservation in our country on this day. The government inaugurated initiatives to improve water conservation system over time. The government included new policies to preserve water and use water properly. It is our responsibility to understand the value of water resources as wastage of water can call problems for us. Water is one of most important natural resources for us. We cannot think life without water. Our day to day activities are based on using of water. World water day was such an occasion to teach people about taking actions to conserve water for future purpose. It made us capable to understand the various ways of conserving water and stopping wastage of it. It was a great opportunity for people of all ages to be part of worldwide awareness and take serious step about saving water. The event encouraged children, youngsters and older people too for being serious in their regular life where they use water. One single step can bring a massive change in the entire nation. So, our motto was to bring awareness among people about water conservation through multiple ways and small actions. There was strategic plans to discuss different ways of water conservation and teach people about it. Our honourable prime minister gave speech on water conservation on this day and asked people to be alert throughout the year not for single day.
