The story, A Letter To God, written by GL Fuentes is a story about the unquestionable and indubitable faith of Lencho, the protagonist of the story, in God. Lencho’s corn is destroyed by a hailstorm, which appears out of nowhere when he was expecting a rain, which left him in despair. But he understands that God is out there to help him, and with a very strong, mountain rock faith, he writes a letter to God, seeking help of a 100 pesos, so that he can sow corn in his field again and survive till the coming year. The letter, which has been addressed to God, reaches in the hands of the postmaster, who at first is amused but then, in the next moment decides to help the old man, so that his faith in God does not shatter. He donates a part of his salary, and asks others in his office to do the same, and is able to collect 70 pesos. He collects them all, puts it in the envelope and writes God at the end of the letter. The very next day, Lencho with a strong faith reaches the post office, and inquires if there is a letter by his name. The postmaster himself hands him over the letter. The most important plot of the story is when Lencho, who is not surprised with the money he has received, because he had a strong faith in God, decides to write a letter to God again, where he requests God to not send him money through mail, as he feels the rest of the money was stolen by the post office employees.
