A King`s of Tale Summary
The strong ‘A Kings Tale’ is an adaption from the ancient Arthurian legends. The story is about the line of England named Uther-Pendragon. The king was friend and protector to all his people, and was fair to everyone. Under his rule the people of Britain lived in peace and happiness. The king married a beautiful lady Igraine and had a son. The child was the heir of the throne. Soon after the baby was born, the king and queen passed away. Everyone started to target the throne king had two wise counselors, Merlin and Sir Ulfius . After the death of king and queen these two wise counselors gave the child to Sir Ector, a loyal subject for the safety of the child. They told sir Ector to take care of the child as his own son . The child was Britain after the passing of the king. The noblemen started frighting among themselves for the throne. The people of Britain suffered a lot. These was no rules and laws in the country.
Arthur unaware of his real identity grows in the home of Sir Ector in happiness and safety. As he grew older, he become gentle, strong and handsome just like his father. Eighteen years passed and Britain was tour by bitter rivalry. There was no king. The people of Britain wanted the old peaceful days to come back. It was Christmas time and people in Britain were hungry, cold and frightened. One day people found a stone on which fixed a magnificent sword. On the stone it was written that whoever lifts the sward would be the king of Britain. All the Barons tried to pull the sword but none were successful. It was Arthur who successfully managed to pull the sword out. The Barons were angry and wanted a lest. One morning a great trail took place in the presence of many people. In front of all, Arthur lifted the sword and the crowd welcomed him as the king. After becoming king Arthur ruled Britain and brought back the peace. He fought many battle. In one battle he lost his sword.
Merlin his father`s loyal counselor took him to take from which a beautiful arm with golden bracelets rose from water. The hand had a sword set with rubies and emerals. It was Excalibur meant for an honest knight. Arthur took the sword and said that he would never use it for his personal gains. Arthur ruled for many years and grew old. The king gave his magic Sword to a trusted knight and told him to throw the sword in the same lake. The knight did as he was instructed , the said the king that a beautiful arm arose from lake and took the sword. after hearing this, he asked the people of Britain to put him on a barge with tearful eye everyone bade good bye. The old king as the barge sailed with him towards the sunset.
