A career counseling campaign was recently organized in our school. It was organized on 12th January on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. This campaign was organized to help students navigate through many career options available these days. Experts from different fields were invited to provide career guidance to the students. The chief guest for this campaign was the district magistrate of the district.
The campaign started around 11 o’clock. All the students were gathered in the school grounds. The experts from different fields were started coming. The seating arrangements for them were made in the school assembly. Separate table and chair was allotted for everyone. The students who were in charge of the arrangements made posters for every desk of experts displaying the field they represent. Some teachers of our school were also participating in the career counseling program. Students were going around and checking all the types of experts present there. Some of the students were talking to them. The advisers being very professional as they were initiating conversations as students were a bit hesitant at first. Within an hour the campaign was going on full speed. Around 1 o’clock afternoon the chief guest arrived and the students responsible for the arrangements for the chief guest received him at the gate with flowers and bouquets. The principal of our school along with some teachers were also present there to receive him. Then they were taken to the assembly hall and taken to the main stage. All the field experts and other teachers were also invited to the stage. Our headmaster was invited to speak a few words about the whole program. He gave a very beautiful speech about making career decisions and inspired the students to follow their dreams. After that the honorable chief guest was invited to speak. He started his speech with his life journey and the lessons he learned along the way. Students were moved by the speech. “No dream is too big if you set your mind to it” he included. After this the school authorities presented all the invited guests a certificate of appreciation and a bouquet as token of respect. After the conclusion of the program some students were still eagerly waiting to talk some more with the advisor. They were kind enough to talk to some more students about their question.
The event ended on a very positive note and all the students who participated has gained valuable knowledge. These kinds of events help students in dreaming big and break through the limitations that society imposes on them.
