As we know that Himalaya Mountain is a huge mountain range which is made up of many small mountains ranges. It is extended from northern part of India, Pakistan, Nepal, China, Bhutan& Arunachal Pradesh .The Himalaya mountain range are formed over 200mya when Indian plates collides with Eurasian plates which result in the formation of folded mountains Himalaya. The Himalaya Mountain is a type of young fold mountains. Inside the core of Himalaya granite is present. The Himalaya mountains is divided into three different range that is the Greater Himalaya or Himadri , the middle Himalaya or Himachal and the southernmost range Shiwaliks( which is 10- 15Km wide). The distance covered by the Himalaya Mountain is 2400Km. It is the largest mountain range in the Asia continent. Also, the Himalaya Mountain is divided into region from west to east that is the region present between Indus and Sutlej is called Punjab Himalaya or Kashmir and Himachal Himalaya, the region between Satluj and kali rivers are called as Kumaon Himalaya, then the region present between kali and Teesta rivers is called as Nepal Himalaya and the region present between Teesta and Dihang rivers is known as Assam Himalaya. The world’s highest peak Mt. Everest is located in the region of Great Himalaya between Nepal and Tibet. The height of Mt . Everest is 8,849 m above the sea level. Infact, most of the highest mountain range are located in great Himalaya range such as Pir Panjal range, Kanchenjunga, K2, Nanga parbat, Annapurna, Kamet, Makalu, Dhaulagiri. The glaciers present in Greater Himalayas are Gangotri, Chaturangi, Bhagirathi, Kamet, Milam and the passes are Karakoram pass, Shipkila pass, Bomdila and Nathula pass.There are three Himalayan rivers- the Indus, the Ganga and the Brahmaputra river. Along with that some of there tributaries flows from Himalayan glaciers such as the Bhagirathi river and Alaknanda river flows from Gangotri glaciers and Sadopanth glaciers in Uttarakhandand both the rivers meet at Devprayag to form Ganga. The Himalaya Mountain are of great importance- it is the storehouse of water in the form of glaciers, shelter for variety of fauna( Himalayan yak, Himalayan Thar, Himalayan Black bear, Himalayan Deer),and many medicinal plants (Aconitum ferox) are found with wide variety of flora( pine, deodar, cedar). It has tourists importance and many sports are played in the mountains such as skiing, trekking, hiking and snow rugby. Also, many temples are there in the range of Himalayan mountains such as Kedarnath and Badrinath. Many National parks and sanctuary are formed on the Himalayan mountains such as the Great Himalayan National park in Himachal Pradesh, Corbett National park in Uttarakhand, Namdapha National park in Arunachal Pradesh, Rajaji park at the foothills of Himalaya.
