Speech on Independence Day
Speech on Independence Day: Respected Principal Sir/Madam, teachers and dear fellow students. On this prestigious day I’ve been given a chance to address this wondrous communion. In my love and honor I would like to dedicate a few words to my nation India.
In a so diverse nation such as India, where its people are classified into various categories and classes, where the distinction seems so apparent but still we live under a common spirit. The Indian nation has its history and the world has its fair share to contribute. Some gave love and affection and some gave pain and hatred unimaginable, India’s scars remains deep and would forever remind us of what we’ve been through to get here. India attained Independence from the British rule at 15 August 1947 after a brutal and out of the world battle against an enemy which knew how to exploit India and make it a slave for their own benefits. Everything we do has consequences and so did the British knew this, but adhered to their racist and violence scheme of exploitation of India. Before moving with the tale of our nations heroic victory over the British It is our responsibility to peel layer by layer the truth of all we’ve been through. The British East India Company entered India as spice and garment traders in 24 August 1608. At the beginning like any ordinary trader they did their trade but as time went so grew their greed, greed which was insatiable. Now they wanted more and all for themselves. India in those times was still under Mughal raj and provincial kings and queens, who controlled and over watched everything from trade to law and order. Seeing the land of India so diverse in culture and opinion British felt the need to first exploit our religious systems and turn every brother against one another. As time went British company couldn’t resist their humongous urge for power and rebellion, they slowly demanded the kings to allow them use of their troops for their own protection but this lie became apparent when securing enough troops the British company rebelled and did it so eloquently, it became clear that the Mughal empire in India was now over and a new more cruel slavery will begin. The British Company now wore her majesty’s commands and India became their new territory thus India was trapped, and although they didn’t know at that time but now we know it will be a long time till India will again regain its powers and province back. After the British Empire rule commenced, so did the rule of wicked law and order which was fair to none of the men of color. Systematic exploitation has many faces, one such face is Racism. The law and order spared none under its inhumane dominion; Indians struggled and fought day after day after day. India saw many rebellions up rise and dozed to ground. Although Independence was far away but the idea of nationalism and sacrifice pushed India into brutal warfare. A war of ethics and morality, a war where both sides struggled and finally after countless deaths and blood bath, India under the guidance of Mahatma Gandhi and its first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru attained freedom at the morning of 15 August !947. The British left in agony and shame but the damage was done, for years to come people of India would always remember the price and importance of sacrifices. With a broken economy India most triumphantly conquered losses and achieved profit for her people and children. This tale is most moving and motivating and I would like for everybody here to never forget that they are part of a nation like which there exists no other on this globe. Please rise with pride, love and forgiveness in your heart and Say, Jai Hind!
