Speech on Importance of Education
INTRODUCTION
Good morning to all ladies and gentlemen present over here. I would like to give a speech on the topic of importance of education.
As you all know we live in a vast country which has a huge diversity in terms of social ,culture, traditions, language, religions, Flora, fauna, location and having a large population density.
India is a democratic country which has largest pool of software engineers, doctors, businessmen and officers. Still we are far away from the success. This is because of the illiterate people present in the country. Over 25% of the population is still illiterate. Success of a country depends upon its citizens only. Education strengthens democracy.
BODY
From the ancient history we get to know that India had topmost world university present at that time named as Nalanda and Takshshila. No country can become great without it educated citizens. Education is the backbone of the country. A well educated population, youth with knowledge and skills is essential for the development of the country. Government has taken many initiatives to improve the education system and to increase the literacy rate. They had launched many schemes &programmes such as Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, mid- day meal scheme, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya , National literacy mission programme , e- learning platform(for both teachers and students). But being a responsible citizens, it becomes our duty to aware the illiterate peoples and spread awareness on education.
Without education no one can get a better prosperous and luxurious life. All miracles and achievements can be gained through the educations only. Not only men should be educated but women’s should also get equal rights for educations. Napoleon, once, had said-“Give me hundred educated women’s and I will give you a good and strong nation. Also, Savitribai Phule was an Indian educationalist, socialist who fought for girls and women education. She had opened the school for girls in Pune in 1848named as ‘ Indian girl’s school’. This tell us that education plays an very important role in building up a strong nation.
Also, the quality of education should be improve to tackle the growing competitions around us. Governments has launched many quality improvement programmes like improvements of science educations in school, environmental orientation to school education, the right of children to free and compulsory education that is RTE Act 2009 poses major challenges for improving the quality of teacher and for expanding institutional capacity in state.
Many scholarships schemes were launched by governments to the poor section of society so that they can continue their educations such as nations means cum merit scholarship scheme, national scheme for incentive to the girl child for secondary education.
Many schools were open for poor sections of societies so that they can afford them and get education facilities. Especially, Eklavya model residential school (EMRS) for the welfare of schedule tribes.
CONCLUSION
At last, I would like to say that ‘education is the most powerful weapon, we can use to change the world’written by Nelson Mandela.
