Speech on Examination
INTRODUCTION
Respected Principal Sir/Madam, teachers and dear fellow students. Before this beautiful day I have been given a chance to address the future of our world. In my full effort and power I intend to say a few words regarding my topic- “Examination”.
BODY
I’ve heard students complain and cry, in anger and some in agony, some in awe and some in fear. What most struck me was their futile and baseless assumption of examination as some obscure virus which spares only the most strong. That there remains nothing but hopelessness while dying slowly under the threat of exams. I have been through this dilemma myself many times and faced the darkest of demons that I knew not existed in me. But in the end it was all worth it, now I’m going to explain to you all why you must stop objectifying exams as villains and start preparing for it. As human beings we are an integral part of our society, taking on different roles and associations as we grow, what never changes is the fact that we have to be a learner all our lives. With changing times what remains of outmost important is the fact that we have to learn and apply everything in our lives, and not every test must be called exam, but in a way you can say that our lives are nothing short of exams. We must always be ready and on the go to take whatever life throws at us. Let me tell you in clear words what exams are, and why they exist in the very first place. The whole principle of an exam is to test a candidate for his or her eligibility for something, something that requires candidates be checked and segregated according to the ranks obtained in the respective exam. In short, exams are nothing but small tests of our learning and knowledge. Tests are vital for everybody in the education. What makes the role of education more important is that we see to it and make sure that each and every child must learn something, that is he or she may become a knowledgeable citizen. But unfortunately because we have come too far now and it pains me to say, we have lost our zeal towards educating a child rather we are branding them in life on the basis of some one time exam. No one can know if the child is absolutely ready, nor do we have any idea about the mind terminology of each child, but why don’t we think before taking a decision and passing certificates of capabilities. The whole notions of exams are changed in these times as I’ve observed and children as well as their parents can feel the looming pressure of our educational system. A system of education that is somewhere faulty in its process that it is taking toll on the minds of billions of children around the world.
CONCLUSION
At last I have to remind you one more time what exams are for. Exams are here to test us from time to time and not to provide us some fancy and deluded notion of our capabilities. Because life is too little to bear stress, children must be brought under kind light of aware teachers who are keener on developing the child in all respects rather than only in the domain of some exam. Thank you for being such a patient crowd.
