Someone Summary
The Poem ‘Someone’ by Walter De la Mare talks about the sound of nature. The poet describes one of his unusual experience of life. The poet talks about one dark night, when he was inside his house and suddenly heard a knock at his door. But when he opened the door, he saw no one there. He was scared as the night was dark and still, and he was so sure that someone had knocked the door. When he open the door, no one was seen. The poet could only hear the sound of nature. He could hear the busy bottle tapping in the wall. He also heard the sound of owl —- from the forest. He heard the cricket whistling. It is very peaceful outside that is why the poet can clearly hear this sounds of nature. He can even hear the dewdrops falling. The night was very scary and the poet was horrified because of the knocking at the door because poet was sure he heard the knock and it was not just his imagination. A sense of fear was left as the poet could not find out who had knocked the door.
