Answer:Originally the Majuli was a narrow and long piece of land called ‘ Majoli’, land in the middle of the two parallel rivers – the Brahmaputra flowing in the north and the Buridhing flowing in the south. From 1661 to 1696, there were a lot of earthquakes, which set the stage for a catastrophic flood in 1750, which is mentioned in history books and is reflected in folklore. The flood caused the Brahmaputra river to split in two, with one branch flowing along the original channel and the other along the Buridihing channel. As a result, Majuli island was created.Set in the midst of the strong and the legendary male waterway Brahmaputra, Majuli is known as the most seasoned and the biggest occupied riverine island of the world. Situated on the north bank of the river Subansiri and the south bank of the mighty river Brahmaputra, Majuli, is at present a subdivision of Jorhat district of Assam. It is not just a single island with a single parameter but it is the combination of cluster of islets formed and developed in the midriver stream of the mighty Brahmaputra.

Answer: The Vaishnav Bhakats live in monasteries called “Satras,” where they practice Vaishnavite rituals. The Namghar, Manikut, Gurugriha, Bharalghar, Vaishnavgriha, Sari-hati, and Karapat structures that make up a typical SatraBhog-ghar, Natyasala, and Atithisala. Initially there were 65 satras which were set up SrinlantaSankardeva and his disciple Sri Madhabdeva, after the ‘ManikanchanSanjog.’ At present only 22 -of the original · 65 Satras are operational. DakhinpatSatra, GaramurhSatra, AuniatiSatra, KamalabariSatra, BengenaatiSatra, and ShamuguriSatra are the primary surviving satras. These satras are very important to Vaishnavite culture and religion. These satras have a good collection o f ancient manuscripts, old utensils, jewelry and handicrafts.
