Proper noun means the proper or specific names of a person, things place, institution, work, objects, institutions etc. proper nouns are always started with capital letters while using in any place within a sentence. In general proper nouns are used for mentioning anything particular in a sentence. Definite article ‘the’ is used sometimes before proper nouns for referring anything significant in the entire world.

Rules of using capital letters in proper noun:
1.) In a text or a sentence while we will use proper nouns we must remember to use the first letter in capital for any proper noun. Proper nouns will be in capital even if it come in any place within the sentence except the beginning.
Ex. New Delhi is the capital of India.
We want to explore the off bit locations of Darjeeling in our next trip.
We were used to listen the Gita from our grandmother.
2.) There are some exception cases too for using proper nouns. For mentioning any family relations like father, mother, brother, sister etc. when we call them by using their names like Dad, Grandma, Bro, Mom etc. the first letters will be capital in these cases.
Ex. please, tell Grandma that I have come here to meet her.
Please don’t worry Dad, I will call you every day.

3) When there is a need to refer any direction before the names of places then the first letter of that direction will be in capital.
Ex. we shall visit South Africa next month.
He basically lives in South Delhi since childhood.
We went to South Korea last year during summer vacation.
4.) There is no need to use capital letter for referring any job title and names of seasons in a year.
Ex. he is in the post of senior accountant in a reputed multinational company.
I and my sister are fond of winter season.
