Like all other years last year too Children’s Day was celebrated with great pomp and show at our school premises.Every year this day is celebrated with bright colours in our school because the moto of our school is “Live and Love – for the Children”.As we all know “Children’s Day ” is commemorated on 14,th November ,to celebrate the birth anniversary of our first Prime minister Pundit Jawahar Lal Nehru or ‘Chacha Nehru’. A small cultural program was arranged by our respected teachers at our school hall. The hall was decorated with colourful papers and Balloons. Students along with teachers showed their hidden talents on the stage. Bengali drama, Nepali song, Hindi song, recitation, classical dance etc were presented. Inspite of all these beautiful presentation the most awestriken performance was our respected Principal Ma’am’s Recitation. Till now I get goosebumps when I try to recall it. Again it was a great privilege that we got our respected ex Principal sir with us . He was the chief guest of the program. He inaugurated the program by cutting the ribbon infront of the big picture of Pundit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Then he delivered a speech about children’s day and we the volunteers honoured him with Uttoriiyo and memento. I with few of my friends staged “Dakghor”, written by Kabiguru Rabindra Nath Thakur. At the end of the program a grand lunch party was arranged with lots of delicious dishes . It was a well spent memorable day.
