Nouns are the name of things. People, animals, birds, places all have their name. The names are called noun. Example – Raju, Tiger, Crow, River etc.

I.) Underline the nouns in the following sentences

Note :- There are two types of noun.

a) Singular

b) Plural

The noun used to indicate a single person, place, animal or place is called singular noun.

Example – River, Tiger, Watch, bee etc.

The noun used to indicate multiple persons, places, animals or things is called plural noun.

Example – Rivers, Tigers, Watches, bees etc.

Types –

a) Changing nouns from singular to plural by adding “s”

b) In some singular nouns ending with “s”, “ss”, “sh”, “ch” and “x” are changed to plural form by adding “es”

c) In some singular nouns ending with “o”, “es” is added to form plural noun

d) Some singular nouns ending with “f” is replaced by “ves” to form plural nouns
