Important points need to focus on while writing a letter-
1.) Identify the letter’s type.

If you are writing a letter to your friend who stays in another city or country catching up after a long time then this will be an informal letter.
2.) Correct Opening and closing of the letter-
Opening and closing both are important parts of any letter.
It is important to make the opening and closing of a letter in a correct manner.
a) Formal letters begin with a specific format and greetings.
Example- Dear Sir/Madam,
Hope you are doing well..
Also, the formal letter’s closing should be respectful and impersonal.
Example- Thank you for your time, and if you have any questions, kindly contact me.
Best regards,
Mr. XYZ
b) Informal letters
Informal letters can begin with an informal opening like addressing a person’s name and greetings.
Example- Dear Ashutosh,
I came to know from your mother that you are going to Everest base camp next week.
Informal letters can be closed with personal touch.
Example- You are invited to come over to my house the next week and join the gathering after a long break.
Best wishes,
Sheela
3.) Define the letter’s primary goal.
As soon as you begin writing, be sure to get straight to the point as soon as possible. It’s important to explain the letter’s purpose immediately, especially in official (formal) letters.
4.) Be careful while using language.
A letter should always be considerate and polite. Even in a letter of complaint, the point needs to be presented carefully and politely. So, it is important to use civil language and polite expressions in all letters.
5.) Be careful while deciding the Length of the letter
In general, formal letters are brief, precise, and to the point.
An informal letter’s length is determined by the letter’s message and the relationship to the recipient.
