NCERT Class 8 English Grammar Essay Writing: An essay is typically a condensed piece of writing that presents the author’s point of view or story.
There are 3 main parts of the essay which we can call the basic structure of essay writing.
- Introduction
- Body
- Conclusion
Introduction-
- This is the opening to your essay.
- The writer of the essay makes his initial introduction to his topic here.
- The first paragraph of your essay can include a very quick description of your topic.
- It can just have 4-6 lines, which is not very long.
Body-
- The essence of your essays is in this.
- The main body of your essay is placed between the opening(Introduction)and the end of your essay (conclusion).
- So, this is where the essay’s most important and relevant material is written.
- The information is not limited to a single paragraph; rather it can be extended to two or more paragraphs depending on the particular topic and content.
- The body of the essay requires a lot of information about the topic.
Conclusion-
- This is the essay’s closing paragraph.
- Even though a conclusion may sometimes be a simple repetition of the opening, it should still have unique words and sentences.
- This is the place where you can summarize your topic towards the conclusion.
- It is important to end your essay or story with a moral, take-home message, or conclusion.
Important Points to follow-
- Give your essays a catchy and relevant title. That will help in catching the reader’s attention and raising their curiosity.
- It should not exceed 500 words. Although this is the suggested length, you are free to change it if required.
- Be sure to use clear, simple basic words. The text loses its flow when excessively tough or complicated terms are used.
- Avoid grammar errors, and spell and punctuate correctly while writing essays. If you take care of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, then the reader will not be distracted from the information.
- To start writing the essay, arrange your ideas and plan a preliminary draft. By doing so, you can ensure that the story will flow and won’t be a disorganized jumble.
Essay Examples –
Books are our best friends
Introduction– There’s a saying which says books are our best friends. The ones that provide us with the most knowledge are books. We learn a lot of new and useful things at school. We are told some things and taught a lot of things. Yet we must read and study the books in order to completely understand every concept in the subjects.
Body-Those who educate, guide us, or give us guidance are not always there. Yet we always have our books with us. We can use them to clear up any confusion, refresh our memories of previously forgotten information, or learn something new.
Sometimes, buying books can be expensive. Even so, a good book is worth more than money. They provide more than money can buy. It is beneficial to read books when we are traveling, when we are in quiet places, and must pass the time. It is best to read books while we are at home and don’t have anything urgent to do. We make good use of our time and learn interesting information.
Learning the relevant information, whether it be technical, language-related, general knowledge, or enjoyable, is what is meant by making good use of books. While reading a book, it’s also important to make notes of key ideas, observations, doubts, or footnotes in a good notebook.
Conclusion– Books help us to increase our self-confidence and our knowledge.
It is our responsibility to handle books gently to prevent damage. They should be protected from moisture and kept free from dust. We shouldn’t make a lot of drawings or silly jokes about anyone or any idea in the books. We must utilize the books properly. They need to be properly organized. And, we must read the appropriate books at the appropriate times.
Thinking that books are our best friends and are always ready to help us whenever we need them.
Friendships
Introduction- One of the closest relationships anyone could dream of is friendship. Those who have reliable friends are lucky. A close relationship between two people is friendship. They both have a great deal of love and concern for one another. Two people who share common interests and feelings are usually friends.
Body- There are essentially two categories of friendship: real friendships and good friendships. They are the ones with whom we share a unique love and affectionate bond. To put it another way, having a true friend makes life simpler and happier.
Friendships are essential in life because they teach us so much about it. We learn so many things and lessons through friendship that we cannot get elsewhere. You eventually learn how to love someone other than your family. When you are around friends, you know how to be real.
Friendship is always there at difficult times. You begin to learn to trust others and understand people. True friends will always encourage and support you. They’ll guide you in the proper direction and protect you against any bad.
Conclusion- Friendship helps us grow. It puts our abilities to test and improves us. Hence, there is no question that our true friends support us through difficult situations and difficult moments. They constantly make an effort to protect us from harm and provide timely advice. Because they share our pain, ease our hurt, and spread happiness in our lives, true friends are like the best things we could ever have.
Animals
Introduction- Several animals live on Earth. They are a man’s friend. Animals have a significant role in our lives. There are several species of domesticated animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses. Humans can keep these animals with them, love them and nurture them. They highly help those with disabilities or handicaps
Body-Our environment benefits from animals. They nourish the soil. The population of animals is controlled by predatory animals like lions and tigers. They also help in agriculture. Yet, the disappearance of animals is a concern. To develop homes and factories, man clears huge areas of forest, leaving animals without a place to live. Animals are killed by hunters and tortured for their leather, fur, and ivory. Animals’ well-being is affected by imprisonment and removal from their home. Animals that live in water are harmed by polluted water bodies.
Conclusion- The Earth is not simply our home; animals also have a right to live there, so we must protect them. They are man’s dependable friends. We observe March 3 as World Wildlife Day each year to raise awareness about the need to protect our wildlife. It is our responsibility as humans to protect animals for a better future. Adopting animals provides protection for them. If one does not have the means to help, one can volunteer in an animal ngo. Moreover, to support them we can also donate some money to wildlife or local NGOs for their medical treatment, food, and stay. Also, we can feed and take care of our local area animals. And, Most importantly, we need to start shopping sensibly to avoid companies that use cruel practices to make their products.
