Must and Have To Worksheet for Students
A modal auxiliary verb is used to change a verb’s mood.
These verbs can be used with main verbs to form a sentence.
Must and Have to both are the types of Modal Auxiliary verbs.

Case 1
MUST in sentences show duty or obligation, Also, it shows a stronger point of view of the speaker.
Must can also be used to give orders,advice

Case 2
Must can also be used in all three tenses by using the adverb of time (that is earlier,next time, next week, right now etc) which will give justification to the statement.
Example-
You must have completed this assignment earlier. (Past tense)
You must complete this assignment right now. (Present Tense)
You must complete this assignment by next week.(Future Tense)
Case 3
Must not / Mustn’t is a negative form of Must.
Example-
Cars mustn’t park in front of building entrances.
Have To
Case 1
Have To indicate general duty or obligation which can be impersonal that is the other person’s thinking.
It also conveys an opinion or person’s point of view.
Example-
You have to visit a temple everyday.
Case 2
Have To can be used in all three tenses with the changes takes place in the form of verb that is, “ Had to , “Have to /has to”, “Will have to”
Example-
1) You had to wear a school uniform before going to school. (Past)
2) You have to wear a school uniform before going to school. (Present)
3) You will have to wear a school uniform before going to school.(Future)

Don’t have to is a negative form of Have to
Example-
