Sub: Problem caused by Stray Animals on the street.
Sir,
Through the columns of your prestigious daily I want to draw attention of our municipal commissioner towards the problem caused by stray animals on open roads.
For the past several months the MG road has become home to several stray animals like cows, buffalo, pigs, dogs and a lot of monkeys. It was not a problem for us if they just live beside the road. But now they are coming to open road and creating traffic jam and causing many deadly accidents. The cows and buffaloes come to road and sit or stand for long time and don’t move even after blowing relentless horns. Recently, a neighbour’s child was attacked by an adult monkey in search of food. Its not only the case caused by monkeys. One week ago and monkeys suddenly jump on roof of a moving car which caused the car to hit the milestone. Population of stray pigs and dogs is multiplying each day, not to mention cow dung on roads is adding to the nuisance. This animals are really become a pain in neck for everyone in our area.
I along with many residents of MG Road wrote several letter to our municipality but they seems not to give attention to this serious problem. The problem can easily be dealt with building shelter for stray animals and give them timely food. We also ready to donate food for them.
Through this column I wish our municipal commissioner will wake from sleep and do necessary action to solve this problem.
Thanking you.
Yours faithfully,
Suresh Kumar,
