Dear Dhrubo
Firstly lots of wishes to on New Year of Bangla. Hope you are good. I am writing this letter to you on occasion of Pahela Boishakh festival. The new year of Bangla. This is our first Pahela Boishakh after shifting to Mumbai from West Bengal.
I thought I would miss the celebration that I celebrated in Bengal with family and friends but I was wrong , her in Mumbai also people celebrate this festival with all enthusiasm. Yesterday the society members arranged celebration at Society club house. I woke up early morning and worn the new clothes. Mother prepared special food items and also distributed sweets to neighbours. Society members are few Maharashtrian, Bengali, South Indian, Punjabi, everyone celebrates all festival with unity.
In the club house function dance performances were set by children which should the bengali culture, boys were dressed in lungi/pyjama and kurta. Girls were dressed in white saree with red borders. Those girls were looking were pretty with bindi , bangles and flowers. Also we have one shopkeeper in our area who is bengali and he was distributing sweets to visitors. It was really unexpected celebration for me. I enjoyed a lot yesterday.
Today I realized Pahela Boishakh is celebrated all over the India with unity. I would love to hear from you about your Pahela Boishakh celebration in West Bengal. Awaiting for your reply.
Yours Lovingly
Anurag
