Dear Kamal,
How are you? I am fine and safe here with my family and hope to hear the same from you. It is been long I haven’t written to you. I understand you must be eagerly waiting for my letter. So, I thought of writing to you to share with you how I spend this “New Normal” period.
This year is completely different from the previous years. We are facing this pandemic for the first time in a decade. Unfortunately this pandemic life has become “new normal” life. Who have ever thought online classes will be watchword for the whole academic session? Though in the beginning I face lots of difficulties to understand the school online protocol but gradually I have learnt the system. The entire education is now laptop or smart phones oriented. The classroom environment has become strictly virtual. Our E-Classes are conducted through a link in Zoom which is provided by the respective subject teachers in the class Whatsapp group fifteen minutes before the commencement of the class. Every day four classes of forty minutes each are conducted. The teachers make us understand the lessons through Power Point Presentation. And the PPTs are really very attractive and effective in understanding the chapters. No matter whether it is a physical classroom or a virtual-classroom, teachers made us understand the chapters so easily with the help of relevant pictures and videos that it lasts in our minds for long. We are also given regular assignments which we have to submit in the Google Classroom within 24 hours. The entire seven hours school timing has come down to four hours. Even then the classes run smoothly and the syllabus is also completed on time. Although I know now we can’t come out from this “new normal” life easily but I’m really looking forward for the bright days when I could go to my school, meet my friends and teachers. The school playground and the basketball court, the Class and the House Assemblies and the different events – I miss them all! This kind of house-arrest is longer liked by me.
No more today. Convey my warmest regards to uncle and aunt and lots of love for you and your little brother. Do write to me about how you spending time in this new situation. Take care. Bye!
Yours Manav
